Obituary

Georgia A. (Bradel) Raught passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, with her family by her side. She was born September 29, 1934, to the late George P. and Charlette G. Bradel at Rochester Hospital. Georgia grew up in Aliquippa and graduated from Aliquippa High School in 1952. Up until a few years ago, she still met with a small group from her graduating class. She married John H. Raught in 1953 who preceded her in death along with her parents. She was also a graduate of the Business Training School. She was a majority member of the Aliquippa Assembly of Rainbow Girls and in 1966 was Program Chairman of the Aliquippa Jr. Women’s Club. In 1965 she was instrumental in organizing safety programs for children including “The Mother’s Watch”, and actively promoted such programs in neighboring communities. As a result of this, she was nominated to the 1966 publication of Outstanding Young Women of America. Surviving are her four daughters; two sons; two brothers; a sister; sixteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She has reunited with her husband rejoicing in heaven with her Lord and personal Savior Jesus Christ. Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the GABAUER-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Church St., Ambridge,www.gabauermatterfuneralhome.com. A private service will be held at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Georgia’s name to Life Pittsburgh, 681 Andersen Drive, 6 Foster Plaza, 5th Floor, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.
