Obituary

Gerard “Gerry” F. Petrella, 68, of Ohioville, passed away Wednesday, December 23, 2020 in his home.

Born November 1, 1952 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Anthony and Gilda (Colamarino) Petrella.  He was a graduate of Rochester High School, Sewickley Valley School of Nursing, Robert Morris College, and Mercy Hospital School of Anesthesia.  He was a CRNA at Aliquippa Hospital for over 20 years and retired from Heritage Valley, Beaver.  Gerry loved working on many projects and hobbies over the years, particularly building and modifying his Ultralight airplanes.  His family has fond memories of watching him tinker on a variety of projects in his garage.  Most recently he enjoyed talking to people all over the country on his CB radio. Gerry had a love of camping in his RV with family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Vicki (Kronstain) Petrella; two daughters, Laurie (Andy) Chaffee and Stacie (Corey) Himes; four grandchildren, Alexander Himes, Emily Himes, Anthony Himes, and Noah Chaffee; two brothers, Anthony James Petrella and Mark (Tery) Petrella; two sisters, Cheryl (Mike Evans) Ricketts and Monica Petrella and her friend Harold; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Monday from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa-www.gabauerfamilyfuneral homes.com.  Friends and family are invited to attend Gerry’s mass of Christian burial on Tuesday at 10am at St. Blaise Roman Catholic Church- 772 Ohio Avenue, Midland PA 15059.  Fr. Bill Schwartz will officiate. In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks are required in the funeral home and church.

Inurnment will take place in Calvary Cemetery in Freedom, PA.
