Helen Marie "Jean" Podnar, 81, of South Beaver Twp., passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 in her residence.

Born January 2, 1941 in New Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Ivan and Frances (Hodnik) Borkovic.  A member of St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church, Jean loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, David L. Podnar; two sons, Dave (Beth) Podnar and Dan (Debbie) Podnar; five grandchildren, Charlotte (Mike) Hutter, Rachel (Kevin) Jewett, and Joe, Kristin and Ryan Podnar; three great-grandchildren, Charlie, Piper and Sam; her sister, Josephine "Peppy" Bowan; two brothers-in-law, Dave Lopez and Larry "Butch" (Diana) Podnar; a sister-in-law, Carol Podnar; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Hope Marie Podnar.

In her final years, Jean was blessed with wonderful care takers that loved her and she loved in return.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4pm-7pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp.-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where prayers will be held on Saturday at 9:30am followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am at St. Monica's.  Fr. John Naugle will officiate.

Interment will follow in Saint Joseph's Cemetery, New Brighton.
