Obituary

Helen Roth, 92, of Chippewa Twp., formerly of Whitehall Borough where she lived most of her life, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2020 in her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

Born July 9, 1928 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Stempo) Slavonic. She was the youngest of 13 children.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Regis John Roth; and all of her siblings except one.

She is survived by her daughter, Joann (Russell) Ladesic; her son, James (Linda) Roth; her grandchildren, Bradley Ladesic, Lauren Ladesic, Kari (James) Hosack and Richard (Erica) Roth; her great-grandchildren, Matthew and Jamie Hosack; and her brother, Andrew Slavonic.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 7th from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Gabauer Funeral Home-1133 Penn Avenue, New Brighton- www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  In accordance with CDC guidelines, masks MUST be worn at the visitation, and maximum capacity at the funeral home at all times is 25.  Social distancing will be enforced.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, August 8 at 10:00 am at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church.  Fr. John Naugle will officiate.  Masks MUST be worn at the church.

The family would like to thank Good Samaritan Hospice for providing excellent and compassionate care.

  1. Dear Joanne and Jim: Our deepest sympathy to you & family. Of course we will always remember Helen, but we know she had a great life, lots of laughs, & all of you had such a wonderful relationship with her. She was loved by us all, & she always had loving care as well. May Helen rest in peace with all of our wonderful memories of her Joanne & Jim & family.

    To the Roth family,
    We are truly sad for your loss. Our prayers and thoughts are frequent for those who suffer due to the anguish of losing a loved one. We all experience this loss but the Bible teaches that soon death will end at Revelations 7:15-17.
