Howard L. "Howdy" Dewhirst, 85, of Chippewa Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 29, 2026, in his home.
Born on October 23, 1940, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Fred and Birdie (Knight) Dewhirst.
Howdy was a proud veteran of the United States Army and retired as a Supervisor of Eaton/Cutler Hammer, formally Westinghouse. He was a retired member of the Chippewa Volunteer Fire Department. He belonged to the Beaver Valley Street Rod Association. In his free time, Howdy enjoyed woodworking, old cars, and listening to doo-wop oldie music.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Barbara (Kubel) Dewhirst; children, Mark Dewhirst, Linda (Eric) Hoover, and Kimberly (Tony) Chirico; grandchildren, Nicholas, Matthew, Christopher (Brianna), Gabrielle, Breanna, and Nathan; his sister, Debra (Butch) Palmer; and a niece, Shannon (Chris) Dulin.
In addition to his parents, Howdy is preceded in death by an infant son, Paul Dewhirst.
All services for Mr. Dewhirst are being held privately for family.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
Memorial contributions in Howdy's honor may be directed to the Chippewa Volunteer Fire Department, 2568 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
