JACK L. ROMIGH (1943-2022)

Jack L. Romigh, 78, of Brighton Township, Pennsylvania passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 25.

Jack was the husband of the late Margaret (Cunnard) Romigh and son of the late Harry and Marie Romigh of Monaca and Brighton Township. He was preceded in death also by his brother Harry Jay Romigh and his sister LueVerne Viola (Romigh) Bowser.

Jack was a graduate of Ambridge Area High School, Community College of Beaver County (CCBC), and Robert Morris University. He volunteered to serve our country during the Vietnam War as a United States Marine. He was assigned active combat duty in several undisclosed jungle locations in South East Asia, earning him numerous awards, medals and citations. On American soil, he participated in official capacity for President John F. Kennedy's funeral and Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream" speech.

Jack was always among the first to step up, volunteer, and lead. He was the first Alumni President of CCBC. He was the Union Treasurer during a tumultuous time at Westinghouse in Beaver. He held offices in the American Legion's Baden Post and Elks Lodge in Rochester. Despite the fact that he swore he would never sleep outside again, he did, many, many, times, as a leader with the Boy Scouts of America. He went on to participate in BSA's adult Wood Badge program and was inducted into their prestigious Order of the Arrow. He was also one heck of an ice skater who for a time was very involved with the Brady's Run Ice Arena's Christmas pageants.

Anyone who met Jack, even once, never forgot him. He was a man of mercurial nature and great intensity, even while resting. He was a cornerstone, influencer, mentor, notorious hard-ass, rogue, story-teller, pot-stirrer and gentleman scoundrel. Often all within the course of one conversation. He possessed a huge heart and tremendous generosity. You could always count on him to offer a helping hand, stirring speech or boot in the ass, depending on what he felt you needed most. Those who knew him best are comforted believing he is reunited with Margaret, his soul mate. They are again together, laughing, arguing, scheming, and dancing up a storm.

Jack is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and James McNally, his daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Bill Kolder and his son, Matthew Romigh. He also leaves behind two grandsons, Braeden Thomas and Gavin Kolder, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved, spoiled, Doberman, Rio Marie.

Friends and family of Jack L. Romigh will be received at Todd Funeral Home, Beaver, on Wednesday, February 2 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm. There will also be a viewing on Thursday, February 3 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a service at 11:00 am. Immediately after the service there will be a processional to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park and a brief prayer.
