Obituary

James B. “Jim” Hendricks, 84, of Freedom, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2023 in the comfort of his daughter’s home.

Born on November 3, 1938, in Rochester, he was the son of the late George and Elizabeth (King) Hendricks.  Jim was preceded in death by two daughters; Darla and Baby Hendricks; and a brother, George Hendricks.

Jim had been a mechanic for the majority of this professional life.  He was a member of the New Hope Church and could often be found studying God’s word.  He enjoyed going to car cruises, drag racing, and spending time with his family.  Jim had a heart of gold and was always eager to lend a helping hand.  He and his wife, June, were inseparable and she was the light of his life.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 64 years, June (Hollibaugh) Hendricks; his daughters, Debbie (Andrew) Mraovich and Lisa (Nick) Sambol; his grandson, Paul (Josi) Sambol; a brother, David (Kathy) Hendricks; his sister, Kathy (Keith) Hohenshel; a special family friend and caregiver, whose care allowed Jim to be with us so long, Vanita Nizer; his beloved K-9 companions, Harley and Shelby; several special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 4th from 3-7PM in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third Street, Beaver.  A funeral service will be held at 7PM.

In accordance with his wishes, Jim will be cremated following the services.

A celebration of Jim’s life will be announced for a time in July.
