Obituary

James Lester “Buster” Trainer, Jr. , 78, of Midland, died on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley – Beaver.

Born on February 13, 1945, in East Liverpool, Ohio, he was the son of the late James Lester, Sr. and Sophie Prudence (Prodonovich) Trainer.

Buster was a proud veteran of the United States Army and had retired as an operator/trainer for NOVA Chemicals Corporation.  He was a member of the Serbian Club, St. Anthony Club, and the American Legion.  Buster loved to run the table in a game of pool.

He is survived by his children, Heather Jo (Brent Mihalski) Claypole, Derek James “DJ” (Beverly Grabski) Trainer, James Lester Trainer III, Madison Kathlerine (Robbie Barnaby) Trainer, and Tessa Marie (Justin Montgomery) Trainer; his grandchildren, Morgan Resanovich, David Claypole, Dylan Claypole, Dakota Trainer, Nehemiah Trainer, Elijah Trainer, Moriah Neely, and Macy Neely; three great-grandchildren, Arianna, Ellie, and Noah; two sisters, Kathy (William) Jones and Karen Valentine; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Buster was preceded in death by an infant son, “Baby ‘T’”.

Buster’s family would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to Sandy, Brian, and Gary for their love and support.

In keeping with Buster’s wishes, he will be cremated and a Memorial Gathering is being planned for Saturday, December 30th from 12PM-4PM at St. Anthony’s Club, 561 Beaver Avenue, Midland, PA 15009.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Buster’s name to Good Samaritan Hospice, Heritage Valley – Beaver Unit, 1000 Dutch Ridge Road, Beaver, PA 15009.

The GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., was honored to care for Buster and his family.
