Obituary
James Patrick Tarpey, 89, of Sewickley, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Masonic Village at Sewickley.
Born on August 24, 1932, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James J. and Delia (Nix) Tarpey.
Jim was an assistant controller of the Pennsylvania Railroad prior to his retirement. He was a member of St. Monica Roman Catholic Church and loved to travel and be with his dogs.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Matasick) Tarpey, on December 16, 2021; his brother, John Tarpey; and a sister, Betty Trainer.
Jim is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends will be received at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls on Wednesday from 8:30 until the time of Military Honors at 9:20AM, the Beaver County Special Unit will accord.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church at 10Am with Fr. Kim Schreck as celebrant.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to St. Monica Parish Share, 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls, Pa 15010.

Uncle Jim, my earliest memories of you would be when I was a young child and you would come home for a visit. You would always make time for me, talking about baseball cards or playing Jax and such. Years later, when you and Aunt Mary Anne moved to West town, all the family get together and holidays we had. Such cherished memories. Love and miss you, Betty
