James Patrick Tarpey, 89, of Sewickley, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Masonic Village at Sewickley.

Born on August 24, 1932, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late James J. and Delia (Nix) Tarpey.

Jim was an assistant controller of the Pennsylvania Railroad prior to his retirement.  He was a member of St. Monica Roman Catholic Church and loved to travel and be with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann (Matasick) Tarpey, on December 16, 2021; his brother, John Tarpey; and a sister, Betty Trainer.

Jim is survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Friends will be received at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls on Wednesday from 8:30 until the time of Military Honors at 9:20AM, the Beaver County Special Unit will accord.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church at 10Am with Fr. Kim Schreck as celebrant.
