Jennie T. Laughlin

Formerly of Beaver

“The Lord is my light and my salvation of whom shall I fear.” On December 13, 2016 Jennie T. Laughlin of Beaver passed into the arms of her loving Savior, Jesus Christ.

Born January 28, 1927 in Stara Weis, Poland, she was the only child of Andrew and Anna Zaremba. Jennie was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Beaver, a graduate of Hopewell High School and Pittsburgh Business School and had been employed by Rome Monument Works in Rochester for over 20 years.

Jennie was a soft-spoken, kind and gentle woman who enjoyed card clubs, bowling leagues and fun times at Mountaineer Park with her dear husband Paul. She especially loved long walks and shopping with her daughter Susan. She enjoyed watching her grandson Michael and granddaughter Katherine play tennis matches for Beaver Area High School. Walks, picnics and parties at McGuire Memorial with her grandson Mark were special times.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Odlivak and her second husband Paul R. Laughlin.

Jennie leaves behind to cherish her memory her family, Susan (Mark) Deitrick, Beaver, Linda Woodson, Aurora, IL, Paul (Linda) Laughlin, Beaver, Larry Laughlin, KT, brothers-in-law, Tom (Liz) Laughlin and Jim Laughlin, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her dearest friend Melanie Komazec, Aliquippa.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Elmcroft and Grane Hospice for the compassionate care they gave Jennie. There truly are angels among us.

Friends will be received Thursday from 4 to 6 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver where departing prayers will begin at 11:40 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Beaver at Noon celebrated by Father Robert Miller. Interment in Beaver Cemetery will be private.
