Obituary
John F. Piuri, Jr., 70, of Monaca, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Villa St. Joseph, Baden.
Born on October 8, 1953, in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late John F., Sr. and Caroline (Spooner) Piuri.
John was a graduate of Beaver Falls High School in 1971 and worked at Babcock & Wilcox before later graduating from Slippery Rock University in 1989. He worked as a software developer for many years, retiring in 2017. John was a faithful member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. He served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the Holy Name Society and Blue Army. John was an avid golfer and sports fan. He was a High School football official in the WPIAL for 40 years, also refereeing at the College level with Eastern Collegiate Football Officials.
John is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Ann Piuri; his son, David Piuri; a daughter, Elizabeth (Lee) Vaughn; two grandchildren, Aiden and Haileigh; family and friends.
In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel and sisters, Debbie Carolyn.
Friends will be received on Sunday, November 26th from 1-5PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp.,117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.
Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Monday, November 27th at 9:20AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, 1409 Pennsylvania Ave., Monaca.
Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beaver Falls.
