John Loyal Powers, 91 of Daugherty Twp., passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023 in Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born December 13, 1931 in New Brighton, he was the son of the late John and Florence (Hawkes) Powers.  John was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War.  John loved spending time  outdoors.  He loved to hunt, fish, camp and travel the United States with his family.

In addition to his parents, she was preceded in death by his wife, Joan (Barbara) Powers in 1997; and a daughter, Susan Marie Powers in 2004.

He is survived by his children, John L. Powers, Jr. and Kimberly Liberty; three grandchildren, Benjamin Lee Powers, Jesse Dana Powers and Laura Marie (Nicholas) Vorrias; and two great-grandchildren, Ariana and George Vorrias.

Friends will be received on Friday, May 26 ^th from 12:30pm until time of services at 1:30pm in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME0 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com .

Pastor Don MacNeil will officiate.

Inurnment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in John's name to Good Samaritan Hospice- 1000 Dutch Ridge Rd., Beaver PA 15009.
