John Joseph Vogel Sr., 96, of Beaver, passed away at the Concordia at Villa St. Joseph Personal Care Facility on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the age of 96.

He was born in Pittsburgh, the son of Rudolph and Marie (Lehman) Vogel.

John was a Veteran of WWII, serving in the Navy as a Seaman 1 ^st Class in the Seabee Construction Group and stationed on Guam. He was an active member of the Beaver Volunteer Fire Department for many years and a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish.  John retired from the Gerber Baby Food Company in 1990.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Gray (Rattelsdorfer) Vogel; a sister, Ruth (Vogel) Chieruzzi; and a daughter-in-law, Denise (Camp) Vogel.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, John J. (Jack) Jr. and Marilyn (Novak) Vogel, Zelienople; a son James R. Vogel and partner Jane Lutz, Industry; a daughter, Kathleen A. Vogel, Center Township; a daughter and son-in-law, Karen G. and Michael Lucci; 9 grandchildren, Brian and wife Heather Vogel, Mathew and wife Maureen Vogel, Amanda (Vogel) Gallagher, Sara (Vogel) and husband Brian Carcaise, Rachel (Vogel) and husband John Homick, Addie (Lucci) and husband Steven Casey, Elizabeth (Lucci) and husband Sam Miller, Carolina Lucci and Michael Lucci; 11 great-grandchildren, Hannah, Evelyn and Blake Vogel, Kaylee and Madelyn Vogel, Alexander, Zachary and Nicholas Homick, Lilly and Molly Gallagher and Ella Casey.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 13 ^th from 5pm-8pm in the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME- 340 Third St., Beaver -www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where prayers will be held on Thursday, December 14 ^th at 9:20am, followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10am at SS Peter & Paul Church-Our Lady of the Valley Parish-200 3rd St, Beaver, PA 15009.

Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery.
