Obituary

Joseph P. Jansto, 65, of Patterson Township, died unexpectedly on Monday, May 17, 2021 at his home.

Born July 3, 1955, in New Brighton, he was the son of the late John and Eleanor (Kompa) Jansto. Joseph worked for 35 plus years at Conrail/Norfolk Southern until he retired.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Carol L. (White) Jansto; a son, Joseph Jansto (fiancé Cassy); three grandchildren, Arianna, Emma, and Caleb Jansto; five brothers, Thomas Jansto, James (Judy) Jansto Sr., Eugene Jansto, Michael (Amy) Jansto Sr. and David Jansto; four sisters, Patricia Sigbornsen, Margaret (Doug) Jones, Elizabeth (Del) Iben and Katherine Thumm; brothers-in-law, William (Fran) White, Tom (Connie) White, James (Carole) White and Patrick (Rhonda) White; sisters-in-law, Kim White and Roberta (Gary) White-Prentice; as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by his daughter Sara Jansto; a brother, John Jansto Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Joseph and Michael White.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp.-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com. A private family blessing service will be held.

Interment will take place in St. Cecilia Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Twelve Loaves Soup Kitchen- 1031 2nd Avenue New Brighton, PA 15066.

  1. So very sorry to hear of “Joey’s” passing. He was always so very nice and sweet to our family. We are thinking of and praying for the entire Jansto family. With much love and sympathy.

  2. I was beside myself when I got the news, It’s a difficult time for us all to step through. May God usher in peace and comfort to your soul at its final rest Uncle Joe. At this tremendously sad moment, please accept my heartfelt condolences to the entire Jansto family.
