Obituary

June K. (Clayton) McKelvey, 90, passed away Sunday June 2 at Cranberry Place, Cranberry Township, OA, where she had been a resident for the past 3 years. June was born June 18 1922 in Alliance, OH to the late Harry and Agnes (Faulds) Clayton.

She graduated from Rochester High School and later lived in Beaver for many years until moving to Cranberry Place. As a young woman, she worked at the Rochester 5 & 10 after which she was a homemaker and “”Aunt June”” to everyone who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alford “”Mac”” McKelvey in 2009, after 67 years of marriage, 2 brothers, Harry and Melvin Clayton, a sister, Ruth Newell and a niece, Pam Cordes. Surviving are her brother, Walter (Eleanor) Clayton, New Brighton, who were her caregivers, a sister, Dorothy Neal Peretic, Big Beaver Boro, a sister-in-law, Josephine Clayton, Rochester, many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and extended family members and friends. Having no children of her own she helped raise many of her nieces and nephews, including Derek and Ryan Cordes, Beaver.

Friends were received Wednesday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver, where a funeral service was conducted Thursday at 11 AM by Reverend Douglas Show, pastor of the New Brighton First Church of God. Interment was in Bear Creek Cemetery in Fairfield Township.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, especially the staff at Cranberry Place and all the faithful visitors while she was a resident.
