Obituary

Kirsten Kathleen Stitsel, 47, of Beaver, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Heritage Valley, Beaver, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 12, 1975, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Barry and Karen (McKean) Cochran.

Kirsten received her bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University.  She held numerous positions during her professional life, but found a true love in her work as the Athletic Secretary for Blackhawk High School.  Kirsten was the utmost giving person who always had a gift or kind word.  She was a proud sponsor of her daughter’s Brighton Township Cheerleading Squad and a member of Four Mile Presbyterian Church.  In her free time, Kirsten enjoyed time with her family and trips to Sandbridge Beach, Virginia.

In addition to her parents, Kirsten is survived by her loving husband of 17 years, Tim Stitsel; their children, Sydney Nicole and Noah Christian; her sister, Kara (Chriss) Pluechel; brothers, Breit (Melissa) Cochran and Brad (Kim) Cochran; her mother-in-law, Linda Reinstadtler; a sister-in-law, Donna (Jim) Stitsel Geertgen; a brother-in-law, Tony (Latisha) Cataldo; numerous nieces, nephews, and special friends.

Kirsten’s wishes for cremation will be honored and a private gathering will be held.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt “Thank You” to the medical professionals at UPMC Passavant and Hillman Cancer Center, the loving church family of Four Mile Presbyterian Church, the Blackhawk School District family, and all those who have assisted them with their prayers throughout Kirsten’s health challenges.  It will never be forgotten, or go unnoticed.

The GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES (Branch), 340 Third St., Beaver, has been honored to be of service to Kirsten’s family and friends during this time.

“Kirsten was selflessly devoted to her children, Sydney and Noah. It was her utmost concern that they be cared for and loved after her passing. To that end, a trust account has been established on behalf of Sydney and Noah Stitsel for the benefit of their future educational endeavors. Donations are being receive by Blackhawk Federal Credit Union 2358 Darlington Road Beaver Falls, PA 15010”
