Obituary

Leon William “Bill” Kelly, 68, of Chippewa Twp, passed away on Tuesday, July  15, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh surrounded by family.

Born in Beaver Falls on September 7, 1956, he was the son of the late John  (Jack) C. and Marianne (Faris) Kelly.

Bill was a proud engineer, and graduate of West Virginia University.  He later received an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh and cheered on both the Mountaineers and Panthers.  In his younger years Bill loved fishing and cycling.  After retiring, he found his real passion in birding.  Above of all else, Bill was a dedicated grandfather, father, and husband.  He was a member of St. Monica’s Church of St. Augustine parish.

Bill is survived by his beloved wife of 39.5 years, who he married on October 12, 1985, Nancy (Balzer) Kelly; his son, Ryan (Caitlin) Kelly; a granddaughter, Cecelia; his siblings, John C. Kelly Jr., Richard A. Kelly, and Margaret “ Peggy” Kelly; his nieces and nephews, Kaya, Kelly, John, Kate, Erin, Nick, and Cam; and his two canine companions Trixie and Nova.

Bill had a great sense of humor: he was quick with a joke but would take his time with a story.  He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Friends will be received on Sunday July 20, 2025 from 1-4PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, Inc., 117 Blackhawk Road Beaver Falls, PA 15010.

Departing prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Monday, July 21at 9:20am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish, 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Father Kim Schreck will officiate.
