Lois G. Equels, 96, of Beaver passed away Tuesday April 7 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township.

She was born September 26, 1918 in Wilkinsburg and was the daughter of the late Stanley and Hannah Eckersly Gleason. Lois had lived in the Bridgewater and Beaver areas since 1948, was a member of the First Christian Church of Beaver, had been a Paralegal Secretary for Attorney Stewart McConnel for 35 years, and was a Lifetime member and Past Worthy Matron of the Wayne Chapter #42 O.E.S.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, William Asa Equels on February 17, 2002, a brother, George Gleason, and sisters, Marjorie Connolly and Ruth Coyne.

Surviving are her son James E. (Arlene) Equels Sr., Brighton Township, grandchildren, Lois Anne (Thomas) Blattner, James E. (Naomi) Equels, Jr., Jodie (Paul) Baldwin, Carole (Steve) Hartman and C. Jeffrey Young, and great-grandchildren Jowett and Asa Equels and Tori and Noah Blattner.

Friends will be received Thursday 6 to 8, Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver where a service will be conducted Saturday at 11 AM by Reverend Jeffrey Arnold of the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver. Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery.
