Obituary

Loretta Wilson Marsh passed away on Sunday, May 18 of natural causes at St. Barnabas Beaver Meadows.  She was 99 years old.  

Born August 16, 1925, in Ellwood City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Edna Burns Wilson.   She graduated from Ellwood City High School in 1943 where she was active in tennis and the drama club.  She then attended Westminster College and graduated from Geneva College in 1947, where she met the love of her life and husband, Edwin L. Marsh.  

Loretta was a former teacher at Beaver Area High School and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver where she participated in Hodge Band and Naomi Circle.  She was a member of her beloved bridge club for over 60 years, and a longtime member of the Ladies Golf League at Blackhawk Golf Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Edwin L. Marsh in 1998, and her brother William Wilson in 2009.  She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn and husband William Timoney of Rancho Mirage, California and Laraine Marsh of Orlando, Florida.  Also surviving her are nieces, Marsha Schaer of Beaver, Patty Aumiller of Ellwood City and nephew Paul and wife Wendy of Cranberry Township.

Friends will be received at the GABAUER-TODD FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 340 Third Street Beaver PA 15009, from 11:00AM to 12 Noon Friday, May 30, followed by a brief service officiated by the Pastor Ron Cepek.  

A private interment will be held at Locust Grove Cemetery, North Sewickley Township.

    I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I remember so many days of playing jacks and board games in your house in White Twp.
