Obituary

Lynda S. Riley, 76, of Ambridge, passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Heritage Valley – Sewickley.

Born on May 4, 1945, in Concord, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Isaac and Gladys (Bennick) Martin.

Lynda had served her professional life as an early childhood education teacher.  She was a Penn State Master Gardener and loved listening to the oldies. 

In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Riley; her children, Davina and Margaret Katherine Riley; a brother, Phillip Riley; and a sister, Terri Martin.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Marti (Richard) Cruver; son, David Riley; a daughter-in-law, Ora-Lynn King-Riley; her siblings, Timothy, Todd, Kathleen, and Rhonda Martin; grandchildren, Katherine Cruver, James-Edward Riley, and Marc-Anthony Riley; two great-grandchildren, Marc-Anthony II and Novalee Riley,

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4Pm and 6-8PM in the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton.  In accordance with her wishes, Lynda will be cremated following the visitation.

  2. Lynda was quite a character. I will always remember her calling her husband “Mr. Riley”. Until I saw the obituary, I didn’t know what his proper first name was. I will never see a grape and not think about Lynda. My how she loved her grapes (and Pepsi of course)! She will be deeply missed by many at LIFE Beaver. Sincere condolences on your loss.

  3. My grandma and I had our differences but we always found a way to be with each other she will be missed dearly she was my best friend in the whole entire world I love her so much she will be missed

This was my grandmother she was the beat grandma I could have ever asked for I miss her so much Every day is hard without her here especially with the holidays coming up my family would always go to her house for the holidays and spend time together now that she’s gone it’s hard to imagine what the holidays will look like Rest In Peace nana I love you very much we all love and miss you very much RWG and take care of pappy for me with lots of love and hugs and kisses 😘 your loving granddaughter Katie
