E. Madolyn Reed, DC
Beaver

E. Madolyn Reed, DC, 94, of Beaver passed away unexpectedly Thursday March
31 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township. She was born December 2,
1921 in Ambridge and was the daughter of the late Thomas F. and Ella
Ehrheart Fletcher. She graduated from Ambridge High School in 1940 and then
from Universal Chiropractic College in Pittsburgh. She had offices in
Ambridge, Baden and Beaver. Madolyn and her late husband, Hal E. Reed, DC
maintained the Reed Chiropractic Office in Beaver from 1952 until HalA¹s
death in 1969 at which point she took over the office until her retirement
in 1987. Madolyn was a member of the First Christian Church of Beaver,
having served as Sunday School Teacher, Deaconess and on several committees
through the years, a member of the Eastern Star, and had been a volunteer
for Meals on Wheels for a short time. She is survived by 2 sons, Hal Emmet
(Darlene ) Reed, Gibsonia and Arthur L. (Lisa) Reed, Pompano Beach, FL, a
grandaughter, Amanda (Travis) McQuiston, Ellwood City, a grandson, Zachary
Reed, Gibsonia, a sister, Ruth (Harry) Smith, Longview, TX and many loving
nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded
in death by 3 brothers and sisters-in law, Roland (Olive), Thomas (Rhoda)
and Paul Fletcher and a sister Mary Louise (Henry) Applequist. Friends will
be received Sunday from Noon to 3 and 5 A­ 7 PM, and Monday from10 until
service time at 11 AM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver.
Her pastor Reverend Robbie Manypenny will officiate and interment will be in
Beaver Cemetery. The family suggests contributions may be made to the First
Christian Church, Iroquois and Otter, Beaver, PA 15009
