Margaret R. Nelson, 84, of Chippewa Twp., died unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Franciscan Manor.

Born July 24, 1938 in Altoona, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Franek) Bilka.

Margaret was born and raised and lived most of her life in Altoona, PA. She met the love of her life, Richard, at Bishop Guilfoyle High School. They were married in 1960 and had two children, Frances and Richard, Jr. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper at various places over the years, but her focus was mainly on her family. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother. After their retirement, Richard and Margaret moved to Chippewa Twp. to live near her daughter and son-in-law. Family meant everything to them and they spent most of their time with their children and grandchildren. Richard and Margaret were blessed to be married for 60 years and to spend their golden years with their loving family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard E. Nelson, Sr.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Frances Nelson Jackson and Dr. Timothy L. Jackson; grandchildren, Nicole (Jackson) and Dakota Faulkner, and great-grandson, Hudson Faulkner, Dr. Megan Jackson and Dr. Brandon Hoffman, Brittany (Jackson) and Jordan Schantz, Kristen Jackson and Brandon Paroda, Ryan Jackson and Madysn Tusick; a son, Richard E. Nelson, Jr and Lynn Lattimer Nelson; grandchildren Nicholas, Erin, and Shannon Nelson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church of St. Augustine Parish, Chippewa Twp., on Tuesday, May 2 ^nd at 10AM with Fr. Kim Schreck as celebrant.
