Obituary

 

Marianne Merryman, 87, of Chippewa Township, passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Promedica Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation, Peters Township.

Born on October 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Frank) Stanko.

Marianne was a devoted member of St. Monica Roman Catholic Church, where she was a member of the VSPs, the Lady’s Guild, as well as the Choir.  In her free time, she loved playing bingo, cards, dancing, and spreading cheer to everyone she was in contact with.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Merryman.

Marianne is survived by her children, Lynn (Jay) Gelm, Robert (Jackie) Merryman, and Michael (Shari) Merryman; grandchildren, Jenna, Zack (Rachel), and Blake; great-grandchildren, Breanna and AJ; her brother, Kenneth (Carol) Stanko; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.

Friends will be received on Friday from 4-8PM at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Twp., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  Prayers will be offered in the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Kim Schreck as celebrant.

Private interment will be in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions in Marianne’s name be made to a charity of your choice.

  1. Marianne was such a sweet friendly neighbor. She was a Christian by word and example. The neighborhood lost some happiness. Marianne will be missed.

    When I met Marianne she greeted me with a smile and open arms. She was someone whom I could count on, she danced harder than anyone I had ever seen. Had a pep in her step, and would cheer louder than any bar full of Pittsburgh fans when a game was on and she was in her living room. She came into my life when I needed her the most. I didnt know it then like I know it now, but I am forever grateful for how you opened your heart to me. Thank you for everything Gram, it means the world to me. I will cherish the memories for forever. My condolences to your family.
