Obituary

Marianne Elizabeth Thompson, 46, of Patterson Twp., went to be with Jesus on Sunday, December 10, 2023, in PAM Health Specialty Hospital at Heritage Valley-Beaver.

Born November 29, 1977, in Rochester, she was the daughter of Richard and Shirley (Keeton) Smith. Marianne was a sassy, tenacious, young woman, who thrived in environments where she could play her favorite role as a mother. She was a dance mom, a cheer mom, a softball mom, but above all else– a basketball mom. Marianne would do anything to sit courtside in support of her babies: Titus and Aizlyn. She loved chatting with friends, being with her mama, and feeling deeply.

She is survived by her parents, Richard and Shirley (Keeton) Smith; husband of 26 years, Douglass James “DJ” Thompson; her loving children, Akyera, Aaliyah, Adisyn, Aizlyn and Titus Thompson; Pappy Joe Gill; numerous aunts, uncles and other relatives.

Marianne was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Melissa Smith; her maternal grandparents, David and Hilda Keeton; and her paternal grandparents, James and Pauline Smith.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 13th from 2pm-4pm and 6pm until the time of services at 8pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Ashfaq, the nursing staff at PAM Specialty Hospital, the Strick Hoops fam, and LP Basketball families for all of the loving care and support provided to Marianne and the entire family.
