Marion Louise Ledford

Marion Louise Ledford, 88, of Brighton Township, formerly of Vanport and Monaca, passed away Tuesday December 23 in Kindred Care, Brighton Township. She was born February 5, 1926 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Patrick Sylvester and Gladys Minerva Whalen. She had been a former Arthur Murray Dance instructor and had also done secretarial work. She was a member of the Monaca Methodist Church where she had been a member of the Women’s Club, at one time serving as the secretary, and the Chips Club, and the Civic Club of Van Buren Homes, also serving at one time as secretary. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Melford Ledford in 1995 and a sister Virginia Stewart. Surviving are 3 children, D. Patrick (Debra) Ledford, New Wilmington, Roy Ledford, Calgary, Alberta and Michele Ledford, Seattle, WA, 3 grandchildren, Adam, Kevin and Meghann Ledford, a great-granddaughter, Kylah Ledford and nieces and nephews, including Bobbette Corsi and Deborah Stewart. Friends will be received Sunday 2 to 4 PM in theTodd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver, where a funeral will be conducted Monday at 11 AM by her pastor Reverend David R. Vaughn. Entombment will be is Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, Rochester. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Monaca Methodist Church, 813 Indiana Ave. Monaca, PA 15061 in Marion’s memory.
