Mark A. Murdoch

Mark A. Murdoch, 62, of Industry, passed away Tuesday September 9 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital Pittsburgh following an extended illness. He was born May 10, 1952 in Rochester and was the son of the late Archibald and Marcella Booth Murdoch.

Mark was raised in Monaca and had also lived in Bridgewater. He was a graduate of Milton Hershey High School, was a retired mechanic, was a member of St. Blaise Parish, Midland, the Parish Council of the Church, was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, had served as Chairman of the Table of Plenty at the Community Dinner, had been a former Scout Master for Boy Scouts of America, Troop and Pack #495, was a former Captain and member of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Department and had been a volunteer at Old Economy Village.

Surviving him are his wife, Carol Valent Murdoch, a son, Mark Gregory Murdoch and a daughter, Stephanie Murdoch, both at home, 4 brothers, Archie Murdoch, Aliquippa, Dan (Rosemary) Murdoch, Rochester, Mike (Monica) Murdoch, Center, and Kevin Murdoch, Beaver Falls, a sister, Susan (Jack) Niedergal, Brighton Township, step siblings, Rick, Judy, Pat and Tim Pontillo, 12 nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Emilio Pontillo and a nephew Michael C. Murdoch.

Friends will be received Thursday 6 to 8 and Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 AM in the St. Blaise Parish, 722 Ohio Avenue, Midland by Father Mike Yaksick. Interment will follow in Beaver Cemetery. The family suggests contributions may be made in Mark’s memory to the St. Blaise Parish, 722 Ohio Avenue, Midland, PA 15059.
