Mattie was the most wonderful teacher to my daughter Taylor. She had first graders keeping a journal and writing in it each day. Imagine the gift of a sweet and caring teacher who has first graders writing. I was her colleague but at the high school level, and there were only good things to say about this lovely woman. Martha was a gift to her students. Her legacy lives through them.
