Obituary

Martha A. "Martie" Frendberg, age 83, of Patterson Township passed away on Saturday,

December 20, 2025, to be with the Lord.

Martha was born on Valentines Day, February 14, 1942 at her home in Beaver Falls. Martha was baptized and confirmed in the First Lutheran (German) Church in Beaver Falls. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School Class in 1960. With the encouragement of her mother and her teachers, she pursued her art talents at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, earning an Associate's Degree in Graphic Arts.

Upon graduation she worked as a Graphic Artist for Mellon Bank at their Pittsburgh principal office; for Michael Baker Jr. Inc., Beaver; and the Beaver County Planning Commission. While working in the graphic arts field, she attended and graduated from Geneva College in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. In 1984 she completed a Master of Education Degree with a Reading Specialist Certificate from Westminster College. Many graduate classes were taken at Penn State.

Martha worked as a substitute teacher in the Beaver School District. She was then employed as a reading specialist and first grade teacher in the Blackhawk School District, until her retirement in 2004 with 20 years of service. Martha was a former member of the Auxiliary of the Beaver Valley Chapter of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers.

Martha was married to her beloved husband J. Edwin Frendberg for 51 years. They were married in the First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Falls on Sept. 28, 1974. A special inspiration in her life was Mother Angelica of Our Lady of Angels Monastery.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Martha Renn Kaminski; her sister, Caroline Kaminski and her grandparents, Ludwig and Julia Renn.

She is survived by her husband, J. Edwin Frendberg, and many wonderful friends

including Belva Ruth, Julie, Greg, Pat & Sue, Nicole & Dylan, Abby & Ryan, Carol,

and First Presbyterian Church.

Martha dedicated her life to her husband and family. She was an avid pet lover and loved children. She lived her dream to become a teacher. In retirement she enjoyed meeting former students and parents and learning about their successes in life.

Friends will be received on Monday, December 29 th from 2-4PM & 6-8PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., Chippewa Township, 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.

A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday, December 30 th at 11AM with Rev. David Oyler officiating.

Interment will follow in Beaver Falls Cemetery.
