Obituary

Mary A. “Nettie” Eckhardt, 85, of Beaver Falls, passed away Friday, December 23, 2022 in Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born December 31, 1936 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Eva (Muto) Hegner.  Nettie was a member of St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church.

She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 66 years, James T. Eckhardt; five children, Rosanne (Scott) Fairley, Gerard Eckhardt, Suzy (Rick) Plassmeyer, Lizie (Michael) Medarac and Steve (Allen) Eckhardt; nine grandchildren, Nick (MaryBeth) Eckhardt, Sara (Jeff) Powell, Katie (Joe) Back, Alaina (Tony) Pharr, Joseph (Jamie) Fairley, Mary (Tom) Harper, Rachael (Brandon) Pauvlinch, Jennifer Medarac, and Christopher Medarac; two step-grandchildren, Shawn (JoyLyn) Plassmeyer and Shannon (Jammie) Jolly; thirteen great-grandchildren, Emma, Benjamin, Jane, Samuel, Thomas, Calvin, Mya, Jameson, Simone, Grace, McCartney, Anderson, and Asher; two brothers, Leo Hegner and Ralph (Sandy) Hegner; a cousin, Anna Marie Colao; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers-in-law, Richard, Thomas, William and George Eckhardt; and five sisters-in-law, Marie, Ruth, Betty Ann and Beatrice Eckhardt and Martha Hegner.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 27^th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home- 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls PA 15010-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, where prayers will be held on Wednesday at 9:30am followed by as mass of Christian burial at 10am at St. Monica’s Roman Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Drive, Beaver Falls PA 15010.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
