Mary Ellen Dunigan, 85, of Darlington, formerly of North Carolina, died on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Lakeview Personal Care Home.

Born on December 29, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Ethel (Eddy) Reed.

Mary Ellen had retired from Fisher's Big Wheel Department Stores and had attended the Enon Valley Church of Christ.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and quilting, but most importantly, she loved spending precious moments with family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Dunigan; a son-in-law, Gary Hamilton; a grandson, Matthew Hamilton; and her siblings, Alan Reed, and Ruby Rowand.

Mary Ellen is survived by her daughter, Brenda (Michael) Navolio; her son, Mark (Theresa) Watkins; grandchildren, Gary Jr. (Katelyn), Jason, LeighAnn, and Andrew; her sisters, Ruth Hardy, Nancy Fuller, and Sandra Ward; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Mary Ellen's wishes for cremation have been honored and no services are being planned at this time.

Inurnment will take place at a later date in West Virginia.
