Obituary

On January 2, 2025, Aunt Mary passed away at Villa Saint Joseph in Baden, Pennsylvania, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on July 15, 1934, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Elena (Puteri) Mendicino.  A devoted member of Saint Monica Church of Saint Augustine Parish, Mary loved and lived her Catholic faith.  Mary worked at Bell Telephone for 37 years, starting as an operator in Beaver Falls and finishing as a Force Administrator in Pittsburgh, where she retired.  She was a member of the Beaver County Career Women and a life member of the Verizon Pioneer club.  In her free time, she enjoyed dancing, music, traveling and baking. These activities brought her much joy and fulfillment.  Baking every Christmas season she Captained “Mimis Holiday Baking Team” providing the best cookies and treats for the annual family Christmas gathering making the holiday season festive.

Mary is survived by her siblings, Joseph (Barbara) Mendicino, Edith Namath, and Frank Mendicino; numerous nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose (Weido) Omogrosso, Phyllis (Nick) Pasco, and Frances (James) Boyle; brother-in-law, Frank Namath; and a sister-in-law, June Mendicino.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 10AM at St. Monica Church of St. Augustine Parish- 116 Thorndale Dr., Beaver Falls.

Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
