Obituary

Mary H. Selby Kalac, 98, formerly of Beaver Falls, passed away Saturday February 2 in Brighton Township. She was born March 26, 1914 in Beaver Falls and was the oldest daughter of the late Martin and Rose Ostronich Selby. Mary had been a resident of Friendship Ridge for the past 2 years, was a retired hairdresser and was a member of SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church of Beaver.

Preceding her in death, besides her parents, were her husband, Matthew Kalac in 1982, 6 brothers and 4 sisters-in-law, Rudy, Steven, George and his wife Catherine, Frank and his wife Nellie, John and his wife Mary Lou, William and his wife Jean, and a sister Helen and her husband Hugo DeLorenzo.

She is survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Betty Selby) Cain, Beaver, 3 stepchildren, Richard Kalac and his wife Trudy, Sisters, OR, Dolly (Kalac) and her husband Anthony Santillo, Ellwood City, Carol (Kalac) and her husband Art Hairhoger, New Castle and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Friends were received Wednesday 4 to 8 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver and a Mass of Christian Burial was held at 10 AM Thursday. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Falls.

Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s memory to SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 200 Third Street, Beaver, PA 15009 or to the Beaver County Humane Society, Rt. 18, Monaca, PA 15061.

The family would like to thank the staff of Friendship Ridge, Vitas Hospice Care and all her friends and volunteers for all the care and kindness given Mary, that touched her life and kept her smiling.
