Obituary

Mary Lynn Smakosz, 84, of Patterson Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Concordia at Villa St. Joseph, Baden.

Born on February 11, 1941, in Rochester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Agnes (Glass) Uyak.

Mary Lynn worked as a service representative for Bell Telephone for many years.  She was a devoted member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church and enjoyed working around her home and caring for others.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Smakosz; and a sister.

She is survived by her daughter, Maria (Jeffery) Oles; extended family, and friends.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, December 27^th at 9:30AM at St. John the Baptist Church of Mary Queen of Saints Parish, 1409 Pennsylvania Ave., Monaca, PA 15061.

Interment will be private in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Monaca.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The family wishes to extend a heart-felt ‘Thank You’ to the staff of Villa St. Joseph as well as Good Samaritan Hospice for their care and compassion shown toward Mary.
