Obituary

Mary Elizabeth was called to heaven February 19th 2023. She was born to the late Robert and Georgia Bundy-Hopkins on July 1, 1958. Pot pie was born during a time when children with down syndrome would often be sent away. But with the help of her faithful mother and despite what doctors said, she learned to walk, speak, and graduated from Cumberland High School.

In 2007, Pot Pie went to live with her sister Ethel J Icenhour in Beaver, where she lived a loving and active life. Mary Elizabeth was employed by BCRC, Inc. There she met many new and kind friends.

Mary Elizabeth is proceeded in death by her siblings, Ruthie, Deloma, and John, and also by nephews Jesse, Oscar, and Shiloh.

She is survived by her beloved sister Ethel Jane Icenhour, and Sharon Weaver. Also surviving is her dear uncle Russ (Liz) Bundy and Aunt Miriam Cicco.

Pot pie's bright smile will be sadly missed by her caring Beaver family. She loved going shopping, dancing, and painting her nails with nieces Janey, Heather, Haley, Hadley and Skylar. Her nephews Trae, Camden, Spencer, River and Oliver always teased her until she was smiling from ear to ear. Her loyal friend Rick always made sure Pot Pie got her mushroom pizza.

One of Pot Pie's favorite places was Conneaut Lake. There she could relax, color in her coloring book, and watch her favorite old movies. We have been blessed to have her in our lives. Pot Pie has many other family members and friends that will miss her dearly.

Mary Elizabeth was a testament to God's faith. That no matter how many times people tell you you can't do something, with God on your side anything is possible. We know she is in Heaven surrounded by all her favorite people.

Mary Elizabeth will lie-in-state from 2PM-3PM at the First Presbyterian Church, 252 College Ave., Beaver on Saturday, February 25 th .  A funeral service will be held at 3PM.
