Obituary
Mary Rose (Mangelli) Battaglia, 98, of Koppel, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021.
Born on January 18, 1923, in Greensburg, she was the daughter of the late Carmine and Maria Carmella (Buccioni) Mangelli and a member of the Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.
Mary’s passion in life was taking care of her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren and she took pride in her cooking for everyone but especially very proud of her Easter Bread Recipe that she not only donated to St. Theresa’s Holy Name Society but enjoyed teaching and overseeing them make it year after year. Her Easter Bread recipe is still made by the Holy Name Society of Holy Redeemer as a Fundraiser and enjoyed by many!
In addition to her parents, Mary is preceded in death by her loving husband of 70 years, Joseph A. Battaglia Sr.; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Kena Battaglia; four brothers, Frank, Sam, Matt, and Albert Mangelli; granddaughter, Christina Phillips; and son-in-law, Nick Crivelli.
She is survived by her children, Donna Crivelli, Ginny (Dave) Brahmstadt, Joseph (Linda) Battaglia, John (Deb) Battaglia, and Mark (Barbie) Battaglia; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Wednesday from 9 AM until time of prayers at 9:45 AM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC.- 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Township, www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at the Holy Redeemer Church- 415 4th Street Ellwood City. Father Phil Farrell will officiate.
Interment will take place at Holy Redeemer Cemetery and friends and family are welcome to join the family at Vinny’s Restaurant, Ellwood City following the interment.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Northview Estates for all their loving care.

I meant her threw my sister.she was a sweet lovable lady. Loved to make het pasta and enjoyed being around family and friends. She had a very sweet lovable personality. She will be missed by all. God has received a amazing angel

My condolences to Donna and Ginny. I just found out. It was always a summer highlight coming Koppel to visit your parents and grandparents.
