Obituary

Melinda Pawelkoski Caldwell, 69, of North Sewickley Twp., passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. She was born on May 18, 1953, in Rochester, PA, daughter of the late Andrew Pawelkoski and Norma Sayers Hardman.

Melinda spent her life caring for others. She was a strong woman, and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend, who left an impression on everyone she met. As a nurse for more than 30 years, she cared not only for her patients, but also their families, and was a mentor to many young nurses. She also loved to travel, especially when accompanied by her friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband James Terry Caldwell, North Sewickley Twp., PA, daughter Lonni Penrod-Basalyga, Baltimore, MD, son and daughter-in-law Michael and Jennifer Penrod, Wexford, PA, as well as brothers and sister-in-law David and Abbi Pawelkoski, Wellington, FL and Michael Pawelkoski, Avalon Beach, FL.

Her memory lives on with her grandchildren Alex Basalyga, Pittsburgh, PA, Nicholas Basalyga, Shanghai, China, Lindsay Basalyga, Hamilton, New Zealand, and Andrew Penrod, Wexford, PA; nieces and nephews, Aaron & Leighann, Robbie, Sara, Jenn & Gideon, and Tekla & Stephen; great nieces and nephews Taylor, Ryan, Daxton, Brodie, Reid, and Eden.

Her memorial will be held on Saturday, April 22nd, 2pm at the First Church of God, 605 9th Street, New Brighton, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
