Myrna Jean Southwick
Beaver

Myrna Jean Southwick, 79, a longtime resident of Beaver passed away peacefully in the morning hours of Sunday October 30 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born July 2, 1937 in Beaver and was the daughter of the late Florence Hahner Karr. Myrna was raised in Beaver and graduated from Beaver High School in 1955.

She graduated from Providence School of Nursing in 1959 and received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from St. Joseph University. She enjoyed a 37 year career in nursing, working the majority of those years at what is now the Brighton Rehab and Wellness Center. Myrna loved to read, enjoyed traveling and often spent winters in Tampa FL. She was lucky to have a large group of friends including being a member and served on the board of the Friendship Club of Brighton Township.

She was the beloved wife of Donald Southwick for 57 years, the devoted mother of Donald, Kelly (Paciotta) and Michael and the doting grandmother of Emily Paciotta, Ashley Southwick and Joshua Southwick.

Myrna’s friends will be received Wednesday November 2 from 6 to 8 PM in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday at 11 AM by Reverend Carl Neely. Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery.
