Obituary

Nilda Franchino, 91, of Koppel passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Elmcroft of Bridgeville.  Born on March 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Santillo) Franchino.  Nilda was an executive secretary for B & W Railroad for nearly 30 years.  She was a member of Holy Redeemer Church, Ellwood City where she was active in the Christian Mothers Association, Lady’s Guild, as well as served as a Eucharistic Minister for many years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Franchino; and her sisters, Rose Cagnetti, Florence Franchino, and Jennie VanKirk; and two nephews, Gary and Robert VanKirk.

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, extended family members, and special friends. 

Friends will be received at the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Chippewa Twp., on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 5-8PM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10AM at Holy Redeemer Church, Ellwood City.  Private entombment will be in Holy Redeemer Mausoleum.
