Obituary
Norris Neale Moegerle (Non) met his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in his eternal home in Heaven on Sunday, November 30, 2025. He was 79.
Norris was the child of the late Philip and Dorothy (Powell) Moegerle. Born and raised in Beaver Falls, he shared the family home with loving siblings Gary (Jane) Moegerle, Gil Moegerle (deceased), and Deni Moegerle (Steve) Corbett.
His life embodied a decision he made over 60 years ago to follow Jesus. Norris’ relationship with his Savior was reflected in his interaction with his family, his church, and his work. Three words come to mind when one reflects on Non’s life…love, service, and laughter.
No one loved bigger and better than Non. He cared for and treasured his wife of over 54 years, Jan (Futato) Moegerle. He loved Jan as Christ loves the church; selflessly and with his whole heart. He adored his son Eric and his wife, Daika. He treasured his precious daughter Amy. And there was a special place in his heart for grandchildren Dominick, Madison, Sydney, and Graison. Whether cheering on their sporting events (loudly at times), or taking trips to Wildwood, making paintbrush cookies, telling family stories, or reading The Night Before Christmas, Papa was enthusiastically involved in their lives.
Norris lived a life of service. When asked why he continued to run his business, Adams Janitorial Service, for 50 years, he would reply “I just love the people”. And they loved him. As he was working, an infectious smile and engaging conversation always ensued.
Non’s life further demonstrated service during his army tour in Vietnam, where he served honorably, proudly, and with distinction. Norris readily and happily served his church family as a member of the Christmas choirs, drama teams, other musical groups, as well as the gregarious leader of the Information Center at Pathway Church. He was also active in the Crossroads ABF.
And who could forget Norris’ boisterous laugh. From around the corner one could tell when Non was involved in a conversation. Sometimes laughter when telling a story, other times tears as he lamented the latest woes of the Pirates or Steelers. But always with enthusiasm and vigor.
Mostly however, Norris lived a life of service to Jesus. Since giving his heart to Christ as a young man, Norris’ greatest joy was bringing testimony to the latest blessing of God. Even in the midst of his terminal illness, Norris kept his eye on the prize set before him. (Phil. 3:14)
To the end of his life, Norris exemplified the words of the old hymn, “To God be the glory, great things He has done.” Today in the heavenly choir, these words are being sung with great truth and enthusiasm by a new member of the tenor section. He was welcomed by the Choirmaster himself, with these words. “Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”
