Patricia Dale (Hicks) Habedank, aged 82, peacefully went into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. While family and her pastor sang "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine" she breathed her last breath and entered the gates of heaven. Born January 5, 1940 in Sewickley PA, she married her best friend Donald Edward Habedank on April 30, 1960 and spent the next 62 years living, working and serving the Lord alongside him. Rarely separated beyond hospital stays, they remained each other's "one and only" throughout life's joys and trials.
Along with her husband, Don, Pat is survived by daughter Sharon (Andrew) Sandlin (Coulterville CA), daughter Susan (Michael) Greenwood (Oneida TN), son Edward (Sherill) Habedank (Sturgis MI), son John (Jaimie) Habedank (Ohioville PA), special nephew Charles (Melissa) Fluharty, sister-in-law Shirley Fluharty, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous family members, friends and neighbors who will miss her greatly.
Pat devoted her life to her husband Don and to her Savior Jesus Christ. A strong, hard working farm wife and mother, she was known for her baking skills, her strong hugs and sweet smile, and her encouraging words and prayers for all those who crossed her path. A 30-year member of Community Bible Church in Hookstown, PA, she led several generations of girls in weekly prayer meetings, cooked and baked for church dinners, and sang soprano in the church choir. Never was a woman more loving and giving; she always tried to be a blessing to others. She will be truly missed until we can one day be reunited with her in heaven. "Well done, thou good and faithful servant… enter thou into the joy of thy Lord" (Matthew 25:21, KJV).
A memorial service celebrating Pat's life will be held on Friday, July 15 at 6:00 P.M., at Community Bible Church (4549 PA 151, Aliquippa PA, 15001), Reverend Robert Kern officiating.
