Obituary

Paul Michael “Mickey” Clerici, 71, of Columbia (Irmo) SC, formerly of Beaver Falls, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 9, 2023 in Good Samaritan Hospice-Wexford (PA).

Born May 30, 1952 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of the late Paul and Helen (Shenesky) Clerici. He attended Beaver Falls High School and graduated in 1970. Mickey worked as a millwright welder at the B&W steel mill in Beaver Falls, and after sustaining an injury, he attended and graduated from Penn State with a degree in biomedical technology. He continued to work in that field, at MindRay Medical, until retiring in 2019.

An avid golfer and Harley enthusiast, Mickey enjoyed spending time both on the course, and on the open roads. He loved music, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the USC Gamecocks, and made sure to watch every game. He also treasured time spent among his close friends at the “round table” at Hemmingway’s in Irmo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Michele Clerici.

He is survived by his children, Nico Clerici-Pittavino, Ryan Clerici and Shannon (Dan) Hogan; two grandchildren, Emery Pittavino and Kiro Blythe; one brother, Gary Clerici; and a sister, Renee Clerici. He also leaves behind his devoted and loving dog, “Mello,” who stood by his side, always.

After the passing of his wife in 2021, Mickey moved back to the Pittsburgh area, where he was able to spend his last years with his children, grandchildren, brother, sister and nieces.

In accordance with Mickey’s wishes, there will be no visitation.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
