Raymond Russell Kehr, 84, of Brighton Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Good Samaritan Hospice – Heritage Valley, Beaver.
Born on June 9, 1939 in York, PA, he was the son of the late Harvey and Daisy (Deardorff) Kehr.
Raymond was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School, class of 1957, where he was a star football and basketball player. He then graduated from Penn State University, Class of 1960 with a degree in Drafting and Design Technology. Following Raymond's graduation, he held a 50-year career with Michael Baker Jr. Inc. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, where he served two years as Deacon, past member of the Beaver Area Jaycees, Blackhawk Quarterback Club, and Beaver Valley Community Concert Association. He had recently been awarded for his 50-year membership to the St. James Lodge #457 F&AM and Scottish Rite of New Castle and was recognized for his service and dedication to the Pymatuning Yacht Club, where he served as an executive board member as well as secretary and treasurer. Raymond was proud of his service to the United States Army Reserves, having received rank of 475 Corporal and Master Corporal.
In addition to his parents, Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Norma (Burns) Kehr, on June 11, 2019.
Raymond is survived by his sister, Deborah Kehr; a sister-in-law, Marsha (Joseph) Benetti; nephews, Jason and Trace Benetti; great nieces and nephews, Gary, Joseph Nino III, Kacie (Jacob), Camdyn, and Addison; a great-great nephew, Jet; and many friends.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 21 st from 1PM until the time of service at 3PM in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls (Chippewa Twp).
Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Ellwood City.
In lieu of flowers, Raymond requested those wishing to honor him would be kind enough to make a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church of Beaver Falls, 1103 8 th Ave., Beaver Falls, PA 15010, or the Blackhawk Quarterback Club, 121 Smith Ln, Beaver Falls, PA 15010.
