Obituary

Richard Pronesti, 75, formerly of Koppel and Beaver Falls, died on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at his home.

Born on March 15, 1946 in Ellwood City, he was the son of the late Jerome and Grace (Audino) Pronesti.

Richard was a machine operator in the steel mill until his retirement and then served as a Revenue Enforcement Officer for the state of Pennsylvania.  He was the past president of the Beaver Falls Sons of Italy, served as announcer for the Beaver Falls High School sports teams, where he was better known as the “voice of the Tigers”, was a member of the Koppel LMBA, had a love for Bocce and all sports, and was a president of the Beaver Falls High School Football boosters.

He is survived by his lovely wife of 53 years, Carol (Belmont) Pronesti; his children, Richard (Gina) Pronesti and Julia Pronesti; grandchildren, Rachel and Richie Pronesti, and Danica Beauford; many special nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe, Sam, Vince, and John; and his best friend, Bruno Gratteri.

Friends will be received on Friday from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the GABAUER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 1133 Penn Ave., New Brighton.  Prayers will be offered in the funeral home at 9:30AM on Saturday, followed by a Memorial Mass at St. Monica Roman Catholic Church.  The family respectfully requests that those in attendance who are unvaccinated wear a mask or face covering.

Private inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home for the family’s charity of choice.
