Brighton Township

 

Robert A. McConnell, 82, of Brighton Township passed away Tuesday August 30 in Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehab in South Beaver Township. He was born August 8, 1940 in Sewickley, PA and was the son of the late Meryl and Martha Potts McConnell. He had been a resident of Brighton Township since 1967 and was formerly of Independence Township. Robert had retired from the maintenance department of LTV Aliquippa and later worked for and retired from the housekeeping department of Geneva College and was a member of the Vanport Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Marian L. Nugent McConnell and a brother Herman McConnell. Surviving him are his daughters Patricia (Mark) Huffman, Brighton Township and Maureen (Carl) McConnell, Patterson Heights and, a grandchild Benjamin Huffman, brother Ronald McConnell and sister-in-law Gayle McConnell of Independence Township. Friends will be received Friday from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 in the Vanport Presbyterian Church where a funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 10 AM. Interment will be in Beaver Cemetery. The Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver has been entrusted with the professional services. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Vanport Presbyterian Church, 289 Georgetown Lane, Vanport, PA 15009
