Robert Clayton Lawrence, 78, of Beaver, formerly of Bridgewater passed away unexpectedly peacefully surrounded by his loving family Saturday March 5 in Good Samaritan Hospice, Brighton Township following a brief illness.
He was born August 26, 1937 in West Bridgewater and was the son of the late Roy and Edith Kendrew Lawrence. Robert had served his country in the US Navy and was a member of the F&AM Lodge #457.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who lived his life for his family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife and best friend of 52 years, Jean M. Shee Lawrence and 3 brothers, Fletcher (Bus) Smith Lawrence, Jack Melvin Lawrence and Ronald L. Lawrence, sisters Edna Cook and Marion Tarazano. Bob had owned and operated the Lawrence of Bridgewater Hair Salon with his late wife Jean for 48 years before retiring in 2009.
Surviving him are his daughters, Karri (Ronald) Bender, and Lori (Bryan) Landman, 4 cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bender Knott and Robert Bender, and Laina Dugan and Samantha Landman, great-grandchildren, Clayton Lee Knott and Nolan James Faller, a brother, Leroy (Cleo) Lawrence, , sisters, Nancy (Edward) Kress and Jeri (Charles) Grant, his best K-9 friend Bailey, several nieces, nephews and a special family friend Donna Glaab whom he thought of as a daughter.
Robert’s wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 in the Todd Funeral Home, 340 Third Street, Beaver.
