  1. We were heartbroken to hear the news and our deepest condolences and prayers go out to Dean, Penny and your families and friends. I was just a 17 year old in 1977 when I met Bird (as we affectionately called her). She was a friend of Kim Stauffer, my wife-to- be, and both were a part of Abraham’s Children, a Christian youth group in Beaver back in the day. I was from NJ and part of a Christian youth group called Agape Kingdom. Our groups would meet at the Jesus rallies held in PA in the seventies and through trips to visit each other. Everyone loved Bird! Her exuberance, positivity, love and faith uplifted everyone. As teenagers she and I had a running joke about how she looked like Honeytree, the Cristian singer. She responded by sending a photo that I still have of her posing just like one of Honeytree’s album covers with the inscription “I do not look like Honeytree!” We loved her and although time and distance got the better of us, we always wanted to see her again. We thought that we might at the Agape Kingdom 50th Reunion that we are currently planning for 2026. I am quite certain however that our Lord has given her a far better venue. I am so sorry to see such a beautiful and bright light gone from this world, but I know how brightly it burns in the next, where we will all rejoice when we are reunited!
