Roselena Thorpe, 82, of Patterson Twp., passed away Friday, November 11, 2022 in Concordia of South Hills.

Born September 16, 1940 in Hanover, Jamaica, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Margaret Agatha (Spence) Thorpe.  After obtaining her Doctorate degree from Pitt University, Roselena went on to become a Nursing Professor at Community College of Allegheny County for over 40 years.  She published many nursing articles in various health publications.  She was very active in the New Brighton Seventh-Day Adventist Church.   There she served as a Deaconess, was on the church board, and was also a sabbath school teacher.  In her free time, she loved gardening, reading, playing the piano, and traveling to her vacation home in Jamaica.

She is survived by a sister, Floribel (Thorpe) "Peggy" Apparicio; two brothers, Ralph (Jane) Thorpe and Kingsley Thorpe; 3 nieces; 5 nephews; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Artland Thorpe.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, November 22nd from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in the GABAUER-LUTTON FUNERAL HOME- 117 Blackhawk Rd., Chippewa Twp-www.gabauerfamilyfuneralhomes.com.  Roselena's funeral service will take place on Wednesday, November 23 ^rd at 11am at the New Brighton Seventh-Day Adventist Church- 707 Fifth St., New Brighton PA 15066.  Pastor Brandon Senior will officiate.

Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Roselena's name to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, Habitat for Humanity, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and Adventist Community Services.
