Sandra M. Black, 83, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, 17 days following to be with her beloved husband, John.
Sandra was born September 6, 1943 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania to the late George and Marie (Hagg) Sullivan. She had lived in Beaver County, Pennsylvania until moving to Medina County in 2013. Sandra was a former member of St. Monica Catholic Church in Pennsylvania and was a member of St. Martin of Tours, Valley City, Ohio.
She had a hair salon in her home for many years and operated Fine Things in Chippewa, Pennsylvania. Sandra was a talented artist and enjoyed floral designing. She was noted for her beautiful flower garden and her manicured yard.
She will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tina (David) Flack and her son David (Brenda) Black; grandchildren, Cassandra, Justin (Annie), Aiden & Caylee Flack, Brittney (Brian) Hamilton, Zachary (Jessica) Black; great grandchildren, Brooklynn, Delaney and Hayleigh Hamilton, Madison Black and two more little ones on the way. Sanda is also survived by her sister, Rose Circle.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John Leroy Black, Jr. on August 21, 2026; and two brothers, George Sullivan, Jr. and Joe Sullivan.
There will be a visitation from 10:00-11:00 am on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in the Gathering Area of St. Martin of Tours, 1800 Station Road, Valley City, Ohio, with the Funeral Mass immediately following in St. Martin’s Chapel.
Sandra’s burial will be held 11:00 am on Friday, September 18, 2026 in the Chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, New Brighton, Pennsylvania.
The Bauer Funeral Home, Valley City, Ohio has the honor of serving the Black family.
