Obituary

Sara R. (Coleman) Hill-Rose-Lilley, 95, of Chippewa Township, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 in the comfort of her home.

Born on March 21, 1928, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Verne (Dille) Coleman.

Sara was Presbyterian by faith and had graduated from Freedom High School, Class of 1946.  Following her graduation, she married Bill Hill on June 7, 1946 and had three children, Bill, John, and Linda.  Upon the passing of Bill in 1969, she was a single mother until her marriage to Ivan L. Lilley, Sr., on May 23, 1992 and made their home in Enon Valley until Ivan’s passing in 2010.

In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her first husband, Bill Hill; and her second husband, Ivan Lilley, Sr.; a son, William Hill; a daughter, Linda Barcus; her sisters, Cecil Hupp, Helen Eichholtz, Pauline Bird, and Betty Jagerski; brothers, Mylar Coleman, Charles Coleman, and Paul Coleman.

Sara was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was the rock of her family, an avid K-Mart shopper and anyone that knew her knows of her love for snacks, especially trying new ones. Sara was a retired waitress but will be better remembered as a bar setting mother, grandmother (Baba) and friend.

She is survived by her son, John (Carol) Hill; grandchildren, Rodger Hill, Chad Hill, Johnny (Lindsay) Hill, Cain (Mandy) Hill, Cody (Kate) Hill, Daniel Weaver, Jennifer Weaver; 11 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Sara’s family extends a heartfelt ‘Thank You’ to her caregiver, Bernie, and her loyal friend, Carol, for their care and friendship over the last years.

A graveside service will be held for family on Saturday, April 15th at 11AM at Little Beaver Cemetery.
